Notorious criminal detained under PSA in Sopore: Police | KNO

Srinagar, Jan 23 (KNO): Police in Sopore on Thursday said to have detained a notorious criminal under Public Safety Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority. The notorious criminal namely Rafiq Ahmad Khan, son of Mutawali Khan, a resident of Khudwani Ladu Ladoora Rafiabad, was detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA) after receiving a formal detention order from the competent authority. He has been taken into custody and is now held at District Jail Udhampur, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). Pertinent to mention here that, many criminal cases are registered against Rafiq Ahmad Khan, yet he continued to engage in illegal activities. The general public of Sopore has commended the police for their decisive action. Police remains committed to taking strict legal measures against such criminals, police said—(KNO)
